Seoul National University Hospital

The design for this new 420-bed expansion for Seoul National University Hospital realizes a client vision for a non-institutional facility with an eco and user-friendly atmosphere that is contextualized within an existing medical campus setting. The new podium integrates with the base of the existing hospital and the surrounding topography. The new bed tower orients patient rooms to maximise views towards distant landscape and mountains. Public functions provide a strong modern image for the campus. The 10 story tower, rising above 4 basement levels, includes patient beds, 24-hour urgent care, surgery, diagnostics, pharmacy, and physician offices.
