Gwangjang Dong Multi-Sport Complex

The Garden Sports Park in Gwang Jang-dong, South Korea is conceived as a unifying civic landscape that transforms a former industrial site into a vibrant public asset—integrating sports, culture, and daily life within a connected urban park. At its core, two complementary venues—one large and one more intimate—form a strategic duality inspired by the spirit of David and Goliath, expressing that performance and achievement are defined not by scale, but by precision, discipline, and resilience. This flexible arena system is designed to host a full spectrum of uses, from wrestling and competitive sports to concerts, cultural events, and community gatherings, supported by integrated training facilities and adaptable sub-arenas. Anchored by a direct subway connection and activated by layered food, retail, and social spaces, the project ensures continuous public engagement while generating sustainable revenue for the city. As both infrastructure and identity, The Garden establishes a new civic heart for Gwang Jang-dong—promoting wellness, economic vitality, and inclusive urban life.
